Every year I look forward to participating in World Bread Day, hosted by Zorra at www.kochtopf.me. With all the bread baking I do, it's usually a challenge to find a new recipe. This year I made a recipe from one of my recent cookbook acquisitions: Bolos Levedos from Baking for Two by America's Test Kitchen.
These are the Portuguese version of an English muffin, slightly sweet, and delicious toasted and buttered. This version uses the tangzhong method to make them extra tender. Initially, they are cooked first in a skillet, then finished in the oven.
This recipe makes only four muffins, which is just perfect for this household. The muffins can also be used as hamburger buns.
A search on the Internet reveals many different recipes, so you can choose which version works the best for you.
At the end of the month, you can check out Zorra's website for all the breads shared for this World Bread Day.

I wasn’t familiar with this version at all! Thanks for joining in the World Bread Day again!
Those look delicious! I love learning about a new type of bread. I've gotta try these, too.
What a great entry for WBD. Long time no see, you are still blogging and baking with Dorie. Greetings from the far North of Germany
