It's hard to believe, but this is our last recipe from Baking with Dorie. After five years, the Tuesdays with Dorie group has baked through another Dorie Greenspan cookbook!
This particular cake is definitely a celebratory cake, and that's exactly how I used it -- to celebrate my tenth anniversary in my house with my group of quilt friends. I made lunch for everyone and promised a special, decadent, super-rich chocolate cake for dessert. It was definitely a success, and few extra pieces made their way to new homes.
It's a very easy cake to make: a brownie-like bottom layer, a chocolate mousse on top of that, and a dusting of cocoa powder to finish it off.
Dorie had discovered this cake on a trip to Lisbon. Oh, how I wish I had come across this cake, too, when I visited Lisbon many years ago! But, now, I can make it whenever I choose, and it's certainly worth it.

Now the group is onto the next baking adventure featuring Dorie's Anytime Cakes.
